Something There(CONTEST ENTRY)
LUISA: "There's something sweet and almost kind. But he was mean and he was coarse and unrefined. And now he's dear and so unsure. I wonder why I didn't see it there before." MAUI: "She glanced this way, I thought I saw. And when we touched, she didn't shudder at my jaws. No, it can't be, I'll just ignore. But then she's never looked at me that way before." LUISA: "New and a bit alarming. Who'd have ever thought that this could be? True, that he's no Prince Charming. But there's something in him that I simply didn't see." ALASTOR: "Well, who'd have thought?" APPLEJACK: "Well, bless mah soul!" ARCHIBALD: "Well, who'd have known?" APPLEJACK: "Well, who indeed?" My True Feelings About The Lion King
I know this year Disney's classic, The Lion King, will be having its 30th anniversary. So, first of all, yay! And second of all, some talk I had with a fan of the film made it necessary for me to write this article about how I feel about this highly acclaimed gem. Let me just start out by saying this...It's complicated. Don't worry, fans. I'm not writing this to make you like the movie any less or any more than you already do. I'm simply writing it just to tell you how I feel specifically. Well, I will say that it is indeed a great film. It has awesome music, beautiful visuals, memorable characters, and a deep message. Not to mention it was a big part of my childhood alongside Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story, and others. So, how come it's not in my top 10 favorite Disney films or even my top 20? Well...don't get me wrong. It IS a good movie but I do find it to be a little...overpraised. There are just so many people who put it as their #1 favorite Disney movie. In my early 20s when I
KAITLIN: "I used to believe, in the days I was naive, That I'd live to see a day of justice dawn. And though I will die long before that morning comes, I'll die while believing still it will come when I am gone. Someday, when we are wiser, When the world's older, when we have learned, I pray someday we may yet live to live and let live. Someday, life will be fairer." STRIKER: "Life will be fairer." KAITLIN: "Need will be rarer." STRIKER: "Need will be rarer." KAITLIN: "Greed will not pay." STRIKER: "Greed will not pay." KAITLIN: "Godspeed..." STRIKER: "Godspeed..." KAITLIN: "This bright millennium..." STRIKER: "This bright millennium..." KAITLIN: "On its way." BOTH: "Let it come someday." *Kaitlin cries and Striker caresses her* STRIKER: "When the world's older, when things have changed." BOTH: "Someday, these dreams will all be real. Til then, we'll wish upon the moon. Let it come." STRIKER: "One day." KAITLIN: "Someday." BOTH: "Soon."

QUINN: "The window is open. So's that door. I didn't know they did that anymore. Who knew we owned 8'000 salad plates? For years, I've roamed these empty halls. Why have a ballroom with no balls? Finally they're opening up the gates! There'll be actual real-live people. It'll be totally strange. But wow, am I so ready for this change! For the first time in forever, there'll be music, there'll be light. For the first time in forever, I'll be dancing through the night. Don't know if I'm elated or gassy But I'm somewhere in that zone. 'Cause for the first time in forever, I won't be alone. I can't wait to meet everyone. *gasp* What if I meet THE one? Tonight imagine me gown and all Fetchingly draped against the wall, The picture of sophisticated grace. I suddenly see him standing there, A beautiful stranger, tall and fair. I wanna stuff some chocolate in my face. Then, we'll laugh and talk all evening which is totally bizarre, Nothing like the life I've known so far. For the first time
